Developing a Layer-1 Blockchain Protocol and Modular Ledger Technology (MLT) from Scratch
From an Idea to a Functional Layer-1 Ecosystem
Chavinci Network is a 3rd generation Layer-1 blockchain ecosystem. Developed as a response to the limitations of traditional blockchains, this project is based on Modular Ledger Technology (MLT) and a custom-designed Proof of Stake v3.0 (PoS v3.0) consensus algorithm. As Genesishukuk, our role in this project extends far beyond consultancy to being the project's founder and legal architect. Under the leadership of our founder, Atty. Sercan Koç, we have built a flexible, scalable, and compliant infrastructure for real-world applications by embedding legal and regulatory foresight into the core DNA of a blockchain protocol from its very inception.
Global Compliance Perspective (ESG/RegTech/Net-Zero). When designing Chavinci Network, we aimed not only for Web3 innovation but also for an enterprise-grade infrastructure compliant with frameworks like the EU Green Deal, the Paris Agreement, ESG reporting, and digital asset regulations. As a result, the project is positioned as a genuine solution for searches such as "Layer-1 blockchain," "enterprise blockchain," "RegTech infrastructure," and "RWA tokenization."
The Competency Limits of Traditional Blockchain Architectures
In designing Chavinci Network, we aimed to solve the fundamental barriers preventing the enterprise and end-user adoption of existing blockchain technologies.
The Flexibility and Customization Problem of Monolithic Structures
Many traditional blockchains have a "one-size-fits-all" monolithic structure. This makes it difficult for different industries (such as banking, law, and supply chain) to create custom and private/permissioned ledgers tailored to their specific needs, thereby limiting innovation.
The MLT (Modular Ledger Technology) Approach. Unlike classic monolithic chains, MLT architects the ledger's components as independent modules: the consensus, storage, identity, wallet-functions, and integration layers can be updated and scaled separately. This allows sectors like banking, law, and supply chain to build their permissioned or public ledgers in a plug-n-play manner on the same core security model.
Scalability, Cost, and Energy Inefficiency
Proof of Work (PoW) based networks, in particular, have become unsustainable for many applications due to their high energy consumption, slow transaction speeds, and rising transaction fees (gas fees). This is one of the biggest obstacles to widespread end-user adoption and micro-transactions.
Energy Efficiency and Transaction Throughput. Chavinci’s Cha PoS v3.0 algorithm enables micro-transactions with its low energy consumption, low transaction fees, and a practical capacity of approximately ~400 TPS. A 60-second block time and a UTXO-based accounting model enhance security while reducing verification costs.
Interoperability and User Experience Challenges
Blockchain ecosystems often operate as isolated "digital islands." The inability to communicate seamlessly between different chains and ledgers hinders the development of integrated solutions. Additionally, complex wallet addresses and difficult developer tools slow down the technology's adoption by end-users.
Double-Layer Architecture and Atomic Operations. With a Double-Layer Blockchain Structure, the base layer handles security and consensus, while the upper layer runs side-chains, L2 solutions, and cross-ledger communication. Atomic swaps and messaging bridges enable the secure and irreversible transfer of value and data between different ledgers.
Genesishukuk's Strategy: Building the Infrastructure of the Future with Legal and Technical Vision
As a solution to these challenges, we designed a multi-layered and flexible blockchain architecture that combines legal foresight with technical innovation.
Core Innovation: Modular Ledger Technology (MLT)
At the heart of our strategy is the modular approach we have brought to blockchain architecture.
Cornerstones of MLT (Summary):
Double-Layer Structure: Security and finality on the base layer; customizable modules/L2 on the upper layer.
Nested Modules: Consensus, identity (DID), wallet, storage (IPFS/ON-CHAIN), and messaging.
Flexible Integration: Rapid enterprise integration via REST/WebSocket APIs, SDKs, and libraries.
Upgradability: Components can be updated independently; innovation does not disrupt the core structure.
A "Non-One-Size-Fits-All" Solution: Customizable Ledgers
MLT allows institutions and developers to create permissioned or public ledgers and side-chains with a "plug-n-play" logic, tailored to their specific needs. This means, for example, that a bank can securely run its own private credit ledger or a legal platform can operate its own transaction ledger on the Chavinci infrastructure.
Interoperability and Ecosystem Growth
The MLT architecture prevents these customized ledgers from remaining isolated. Cross-ledger communication and atomic swap capabilities create an integrated ecosystem by enabling seamless data and value transfer between different modules.
Performance and Sustainability: The Cha PoS v3.0 Consensus Algorithm
As the platform's engine, we developed our own PoS v3.0 algorithm, which is highly energy-efficient, offers low transaction fees, and has a capacity of approximately 400 transactions per second. With its 60-second block creation time and UTXO-based structure, this algorithm provides a foundation that is both secure and scalable.
Reward System and Transparent Governance. A fixed block reward and a controlled inflation model increase network security by boosting participant numbers. With transparent governance, proposal-vote-implementation processes are trackable on-chain; pBFT-derived tolerance and multi-signature (multisig) support provide shared control for enterprise actors.
The "App to dApp" Vision: Building a Bridge for Real-World Applications
We designed Chavinci not just as a technology, but as a bridge to carry traditional applications into the decentralized future.
Developer Experience (DX). dApps and existing enterprise applications can be rapidly integrated using SDKs, RESTful APIs, and WebSockets. A PWA architecture and a multi-language interface provide a unified user experience across web, mobile, and desktop wallets.
A Ready Infrastructure for Real-World Asset (RWA) Tokenization
The flexible structure of MLT provides an ideal foundation for the tokenization of all types of real-world assets, from real estate to works of art.
Compliant Identity and Access. With DIDs (Decentralized Identities), OAuth2.0, and Authorized Identities, role-based access and permissioned ledger setups can be implemented for scenarios requiring KYC/AML. This creates a regulatory-compliant foundation for security-like tokens, asset-backed tokens, and closed-ecosystem tokens.
Ecosystem Projects: The LawLinkGlobal Example
To prove the power of this infrastructure, LawLinkGlobal, another of our founding projects, has been developed as a BaaS (Blockchain-as-a-Service) application on the Chavinci Network. This is a living example of how our platform supports a real-world business model.
Developer and User-Focused Tools
We have made the ecosystem accessible to everyone with easy-to-use APIs & SDKs for developers, and features for end-users such as human-readable addresses, an encrypted and decentralized D-Mail communication system, and multi-platform wallets (Web, Mobile, Desktop).
Wallet Security and Usability. Enterprise-grade security and accessibility are ensured through HD (Hierarchical Deterministic) wallets, 12/24-word mnemonics, multi-signature capabilities, readable addresses, and an in-wallet encrypted D-Mail system. Support for multiple/private currencies and a customizable interface allows for adaptation to specific business workflows.
Conclusion: From an Idea to a Functional Layer-1 Protocol
With Genesishukuk's founding vision, Chavinci Network has moved beyond being just an idea on a whitepaper. Today, it is a functional Layer-1 protocol with a working testnet, a blockchain explorer, wallets, and a clear development roadmap. This project showcases Genesishukuk's highest level of competence: we are not just a consultancy offering legal interpretations for the Web3 world, but a technology architect that designs and builds the foundational blockchain infrastructures of the future, with legal and regulatory principles encoded into their DNA.
While frameworks like Hyperledger Fabric or R3 Corda offer powerful alternatives for permissioned networks, Chavinci’s MLT approach provides a comprehensive modular Layer-1 experience by combining permissioned and public ledgers under the same security model, enabling cross-ledger communication, plug-n-play modules, and PoS v3.0.
